Get Sketchy Challenge 16

Love this sketch and love working with these colors. Just because is from Wild Card cartridge.

25 Days of Christmas

This is my project for Christmas for the grandkids. I worked hard on it for a long time in my mind. I knew it had to work. The guys at work supplied the boxes. And I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks to the Designer Calendar cartridge for the Cricut. Saved me so much time.

The end of a great long weekend

Here it is Sunday afternoon and my great weekend is almost over. We did go to CS yesterday and got to see the grandkids and took Harley out to lunch with us. She is such a great kid. We did have a good time. At least I did. I love to go shopping with her. We have so many of the same interests.
Back to work again tomorrow. Walking again at 6 with Robin. A full week ahead.

Just Buggin Challenge #13

This is my entry in the Just Buggin Challenge #13 Sew it.
I used the Christmas Cheer Cartridge and did faux stitching on the HO HO HO with stickles. Hard to see in the picture but looks pretty good in person.
Thanks for looking.
Also entering this card in the Cricut Card Challenge #3. This challenge was to do a Christmas card in pink and green and white. I love these colors, not traditional Christmas, but I really like the way they look together.

Thanksgiving Day

It has been a pretty good Thanksgiving day. We spent it with Mom. We had sandwiches and crackers and veggies for lunch. Nothing fancy but also no cleanup. Then Mom had made some peanut butter balls and I got to dip them in the chocolate. Kind of fun. I kept from eating any. But when she used the leftover chocolate to make peanut clusters I couldn't resist. BUT. I only had one. I still think I am doing pretty good. Haven't gained any weight yet. But Christmas isn't here yet. Just have to keep up with the early morning walks with Robin. I kind of missed going this morning. I hope she is having a good day with her family. She was nervous but really looking forward to it I think.

Thanksgiving Eve!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving day. We will be going to Moms and spending the day with her. Everyone else is going different places.. I guess you could call Thanksgiving Day, the in-law day. We always spent the day with my in-laws and Christmas with my parents. Now Becci is spending time with her in-laws and hopefully with us on Christmas. Don't know why it works that way but it seems to every year. I miss seeing them but I should be able to see them this weekend. And tomorrow Mom and I are going to work on their advent calendar. Something I always wanted to do and decided with my Cricut and help from Mom I can do it this year. Will post pictures when complete. My ideas are big but I think I can make it work.

Got a card this week from my newly re-connected cousin in Washington. It's awesome to finally get to know these people that I've known all my life but families drifted apart so long ago.

Thanksgiving week!

It's Monday again. But it's going to be a short week. I am going to have 4 days off . A once a year thing. I am just going to spend time in the basement creating. Following some blogs with some awesome challenges. I love challenges. They make me think and create. and try new things that I wouldn't otherwise try.
Like this morning, I met Robin at the school track and we walked the track 4 times.. a mile ya know. Odd thing about this was it was 6 am in the morning. It was so cold and windy. But I did it. She kept pushing me for that last time around. But tonight I am very tired and she wants to go again in the morning.

Triple Whammy-Challenge 12

This is my attempt at the Triple Whammy challenge on 'Just Buggin'. This is my first attempt at a challenge. Circle and scallop were cut with Mini Monograms and Happy Thanksgiving was cut from Wild Card. It's for my 15 yr old grandaughter so used some stickles for the bling.

November 20, 2009

Well, it's almost Thanksgiving. SOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOOOOON
I can't believe this year is almost over. It seems like I have been with Weight Watchers forever!
I finally lost 70 lbs. and feel pretty good about it. People around town have been noticing finally. They have no idea how good it makes someone feel to have people notice. I'm sure some don't like to talk about it or well, I don't know why they would. I love to tell people how I've lost the weight.
It has been really easy up to now. They quit having meetings here in town, that was hard. I really needed the meetings to keep the accountability up and the encouragment going. So I have tried for about a month and a half to go to Colorado Springs for meetings. and they help but I just don't have the will power to go every Saturday. I do enjoy my time off from work and don't like spending every weekend in the city. Seems I can't go without shopping and that just costs more than I want to spend this close to Christmas. So I am going to try to maintain my weight as it is right now until January. I know I can make it through the holidays without gaining (much anyway).
Maybe blogging will help keep my mind on my weight and not gain so much that I have to buy back my fat clothes from the second hand store. no way is that going to happen!!!!

The end of August!!

Here it is the end of August. Where has the summer gone???
I have been so busy and hardly noticed it was summer. But to let you know I've been busy with alot of things. Just not scrapbooking.. But now I'm ready to get back to the pictures and the paper.
Starting at the end of February I found Weight Watchers. What a life saver. Now it's the end of August and I am 54 pounds lighter. Still some to go but it goes pretty fast. I will be posting a picture when I get closer to my goal. Hopefully I will be there by Christmas. Hopefully!!!!
Well, till next time.

Now it's the end of March!

Wow! It has been a while since I've been here. Seems I get my e-mail checked and nothing else done I haven't even scrapbooked forever... Big news is that I started Weight Watchers in February and IT IS AWESOME!!! I have lost 14.6 pounds so far and it has not been too hard on me. I feel so much better I know I will keep with it till I am at the weight I want (or dream about) . Should be sometime around Christmas if everything works as well as it has been. Not much more news at this time, My brother is home from the hospital and sounds good. It will take a whole new outlook on life for him to keep going now. But he is a strong strong person and he will make it. Alot of strikes against him but like I said Hes strong. He will survive!
My daughter seems to be having some problems but like her uncle she is extremely strong. She will make the right decisions and be the better for it. I love them both so much and I hate to see either of them going throught tough times. I wish I could do it for them.
Well, enough for today and I will be back soon. Going to go make some Easter cards and maybe get back into scrapbooking again.

See ya next time.

already February????

Here it is the 2nd of February. It is so hard to believe, this year is already moving fast!
Had a great day yesterday. Marie and I did our first scrapbook together. It was a wedding album.
I enjoyed working with Marie. We got the album finished and I hope Marie had as good a time as I did. It's always fun to do something together with someone who has the same interests.

I am so far behind

Here it is Monday again. I completely missed last week. This is harder than I thought to keep up with. I have my 365 project caught up and joined a couple swaps. I can do this. Yes, I can.
I did get to see the grandkids this weekend. We didn't get to spend alot of time with them. I will try not to make it so far between visits. The picture of Harley was taken at Thanksgiving. I just found it .. I think it is awesome. Two of my favorite things.!!!!!
I have some layouts and cards to post but will do that tomorrow.

This LO I did just finding a way to display these pictures. The first one is Aunt June and her daughter Dixie and her granddaughter Raegan.
The second is of Aunt June and her daughter Kathy and her grandson Eric.

The last is of my mom and her sister-in-law June.

This is a page I did with an idea I've had in my head for a couple days. I knew there had to be a way to mat photos with the cricut. I actually cut the mat and then the photo with the cricut. I think they turned out pretty good considering I was just playing around.

Friday, I got the second half of my 2nd week done and ready to start tomorrow on my 3rd week. I am only 3 days behind printing pictures. Some how I will get caught up. HOpefully before week 52. SMILE.
Monday I had to go to the doctor. Thought it might be blood pressure and sure enough it was kind of high. So they did tests and put me on blood pressure medicine. Not the way I wanted to spend my Monday. Tuesday was uneventful, took my medicine as I was told to and worked.
Wednesday started feeling better, and the weather is nicer. Hard to believe it's January.
Thursday, another day at work and everything going fine. I have a doctor appointment on Monday at the Clinic to go over blood tests they took on Monday and then Wednesday I go to the hospital for a stress test.

the end of another week

Monday we woke up to snow on the ground and still snowing. Didn't last much longer. Was very cold though.

week 2

Still have to print pictures for Friday and today and then week 2 will be done and ready to go for week 3.

1st half of week two

week one

only 51 more to go!!!
I have been working so hard at getting my space organized. Its still not done but its alot better than it was, at least now I have a little bit of the table to work on.

This is a picture of the clock we made for Becci. I still have to paint it black to match the decor in your house. I sure hope she likes it. I think it is pretty cool. I have to thank Sue Mey www.scrollsawartist.com for the pattern. I think she does awesome work. We purchased all the patterns from her for the clocks we made for everyone for Christmas. BUT I forgot to take pictures of them when I got done.

the end of a productive weekend

Doesn't seem like I got a lot done this weekend. But I did get the 2nd week of the 365 project done. and feel pretty good about that. It has been kind of hard to find things to take pictures of. I don't get to see the grandkids often so no pictures there and the dog and the cats, well I have a lot of pictures of them already. and not so exciting taking pictures of sleeping cats. That seems to be all they do. Eat and sleep. I am having so much fun with the project just trying to figure out page designs for the rest of the year. I have decided to use the cricut at least once on every page.

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Finally figured out how to do the photo slide. It seemed to take me forever. The first pic is of my granddaughter and her friend at the park playing. It was so refreshing to see two teenagers enjoying the simple things in life. No cell phones or ipods. Just good fun. The next few pictures are of tin I made for my granddaughter of pictures taken at her 14th birthday party. I had a great time putting it together. I hope she likes it. All done with love.
